About Maria
Maria Sperduto is a mindfulness, meditation, and emotional intelligence teacher and facilitator. She is known for her life-affirming approach that helps people find their unique doorways into meditation and build habits they love. Her teaching celebrates individuality and neurodiversity, and focuses on building self-awareness, self-inclusivity, responsiveness, and sovereignty.
A meditator of 15 years, Maria has studied under renowned mentors in secular mindfulness, Buddhist insight, and yogic meditation traditions. Her teaching is informed by her personal practice, the science of meditation, and her background in behavioral and emotion science.
Since 2013, Maria has been exploring ways to bring the benefits of these practices to the wider world. She has worked in curriculum development, research, and scaling of evidence-based programs for mindfulness, emotional intelligence, and maternal mental health at the Yale Medical School, Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, and the Dartmouth College Student Wellness Center.
